Salaries default to the national median in the Robert Half 2027 UK Salary Guide. Recruitment, holiday cover, training, software and desk space are left out.
How it is worked out
- Employer National Insurance is 15% of pay above the £5,000 secondary threshold.
- The employer pension is your percentage of qualifying earnings between £6,240 and £50,270.
- An eligible employer can take up to £10,500 a year off its employer National Insurance through the Employment Allowance. It is one allowance for the whole business, so it is not taken off here.
- The Buzz fee is the starting price for the level: Finance Manager £750, Financial Controller £1,500 and Finance Director £2,000, + VAT a month.

What does each level include?
The finance team page lists the Finance Manager and Financial Controller work. The finance director service includes the finance team’s work as well.
Where do the rates come from?
GOV.UK rates and thresholds for employers 2026 to 2027, and The Pensions Regulator’s earnings thresholds.
